Aims and Objectives of the Directorate
- Establishing a functional Department of Evangelism in all Provinces, Zones, and Areas within RCCG.
- Clearly defining and communicating the goals and objectives of the Directorate to all Provinces down to the Parish level.
- Encouraging every RCCG member to actively participate in national events organized by the Directorate, such as Evangelism Weekend and Jesus in the Market.
- Addressing the challenge of printing and distributing evangelistic tracts in abundance, ensuring availability in all Provinces.
- Appointing a Board Member at the national level with clearly defined objectives to steer the Directorate’s initiatives.
- Ensuring the impact of evangelism is felt across all cities, towns, and villages in Nigeria through crusades, outreaches, rallies, and other evangelistic activities.
Duties and Functions of the Intercontinental Evangelist
- Representing the General Overseer in preaching engagements both within and outside Nigeria.
- Coordinating all evangelism activities within the mission, including Evangelism Weekend and Light Up Crusade.
- Supervising various sections of evangelism within the mission, such as Regional Evangelists, Youth Evangelists, and Provincial Coordinators of Evangelism.
- Performing the duties of the Regional Evangelist in their base region.
- Reporting all evangelism activities directly to the General Overseer.
- Undertaking any other assignments given by the General Overseer.
Duties and Functions of Assistant Intercontinental Evangelists
- Performing the duties of the Regional Evangelist in their respective base.
- Supervising and coordinating all activities of the Regional Evangelists in their continents.
- Conducting routine visits to regions within the continent for revival programs and crusades.
- Working closely with the Continental Overseer to provide assistance in areas of revival and evangelism.
- Assisting the Intercontinental Evangelist in achieving the goals of the Directorate and the mission at large.
- Serving as a member of the Continental Governing Council.
- Undertaking any other assignments given by the national leadership.
Duties of Regional Evangelists
- Conducting routine visits to provinces within the region.
- Ensuring pastors in the region comply with national programs.
- Holding regular meetings with the provincial evangelists in the region.
- Handling and being involved in ordinations and transfers.
- Overseeing the growth and development of the region.
- Serving as a member of the Regional Governing Council.
Responsibilities of a Provincial Evangelism Coordinator
- Collaborate directly with the Provincial Indigenous Church (PIC), Province to drive church growth and expand the Province through successful implementation of the “Great Commission” across the Province.
- Coordinate evangelism and soul-winning activities within the Province.
- Establish a culture, environment, and training programs to facilitate evangelism activities across the Province.
- Develop and implement innovative programs to stimulate members’ commitment to evangelism, such as Jogging for Christ, Monthly Sanitation and Tracts Walk, Bring a Friend Sunday, Jesus on the Street Crusade, Jesus Paid It All, Abuja Clean Up, Prayer Hike, Appreciation Banquet for Community Leaders, Prisons and Hospitals visitations, etc.
- Lead the organization of the annual Evangelism Weekend for church growth and development.
- Arrange monthly crusades and outreaches across cluster groupings of zones within the Province.
- Introduce a “New Converts and First Timers Appreciation Day” program for new converts through text messages, WhatsApp, and phone calls on a quarterly basis to facilitate permanent membership.
- Collaborate with the Regional Evangelist on the annual provincial visitation program for church growth and expansion.
- Work with the PIC, Province to disciple viable church members who will mobilize resources for evangelism work in the Province.
- Hold regular monthly meetings and provide reports on evangelism activities at all levels within the Province, in conjunction with the Regional Evangelist and PIC, Province.
- Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the PIC, Province, and the Regional Evangelist.
Duties of an Area Evangelism Coordinator

- Work directly with the Parish Pastor in Charge (PIC), Area, to drive church growth and expansion within the area through the successful implementation of the “Great Commission.”
- Coordinate evangelism and soul-winning activities within the area.
- Cultivate a conducive culture, environment, and training programs to facilitate evangelistic activities across the area.
- Develop innovative programs to encourage members’ commitment to evangelism, such as Jogging for Christ, Monthly Sanitation and Tracts Walk, Prayer Hike, Bring a Friend Sunday, Jesus on the Street Crusade, Appreciation Banquet for Community Leaders, Prisons and Hospitals visitation, etc.
- Organize and oversee the annual Evangelism Weekend aimed at fostering church growth and development.
- Disciple committed church members who can mobilize resources for evangelism work within the area.
- Generate monthly reports and hold meetings to discuss evangelistic activities of the parishes under the area, submitting the reports to the Provincial Evangelist during remittance.
- Collaborate with the Regional Evangelist during their annual visits to the province, zone, and area to ensure effectiveness and achieve significant results.
- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the PIC, Area.
Duties of Parish Evangelism Coordinator

- Coordinate evangelism and soul-winning activities within the Parish.
- Cultivate a culture, environment, and training programs to facilitate evangelism activities within the Parish.
- Develop innovative programs to engage members and stimulate their commitment to evangelism, such as Jogging for Christ, Monthly Sanitation and Tracts Walk, Prayer Hike, Bring a Friend Sunday, Jesus on the Street Crusade, Appreciation Banquet for Community Leaders, Prisons and Hospitals visitations, etc.
- Lead the organization of the annual Evangelism Weekend for church growth and development.

- Generate monthly reports and hold meetings to discuss evangelistic activities within the Parishes, reporting to the Area during remittance.

- Perform any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the PIC, Parish. Ensure that the activities of the department run hierarchically, from leadership to grassroots or field soldiers.
Departmental Units
In order to ensure a result-oriented and efficient Department of Evangelism, we have organized the following sub-departments:
- Prayer Team
- Responsible for prayer sessions before, during, and after every program of the department.
- “Go Ye” (Crusade) Team
- Arranges the crusade proper.
- Conducts spiritual and physical mapping of chosen venues.
- Recommends lines of action based on venue visitations.
- Medical Team
- Provides medical instruments and materials for use during every crusade as planned by the department.
- Welfare Team
- Ensures the welfare of all laborers before and during every crusade as required.
- Technical Team
- Manages the stage and technical (electronic and electric) aspects of the crusade.
- Ensures proper setup of stage stands and public address systems.
- Follow-up Team
- Monitors souls won during crusades, ensuring they are established in Christ.
- Organizes ad hoc follow-up classes during and immediately after crusades/outreaches.
- Conducts follow-up classes on the following topics:
- New Birth
- New Life in Christ
- Quiet Time
- Steps to Growing in Christ
- The Great Commission Command (GCC)
- Maintains continuous and consistent prayer for the converts and effectively follows them up.
- Research and Information Unit
- Conducts prayerful investigations and seeks information about venues for crusades and other evangelical programs, similar to spiritual mapping of evangelism venues.
- Manpower Development (Training Team)
- Responsible for capacity development and training of department members and volunteers.
- Ensures the application of state-of-the-art tools, equipment, procedures, and methods in all departmental activities.
- Stage Management
- Manages and ensures decorum of activities on stage during crusades.
- Coordinates with the protocol unit in mobilizing the choir, musical team, guests, and guest ministers.
- Manages crusade programs for success with approval from the authority.
- Protocol Logistics
- Handles logistics, protocol, and security-related matters.
- Liaises, arranges, and works with all church departments to mobilize resources for successful crusades.
- Finance Committee
- Raises, sources, and manages funds for crusades and outreach purposes.
- Prepares monthly income and expense reports for department activities and programs.
- Bus/Vehicle Evangelism
- Regularly preaches in bus and motor parks within the jurisdiction of Region 32.
- School Outreach
- Visits schools regularly to preach and prepare young hearts for the Kingdom of God through youth-friendly activities and programs.
- Literature (Tracts) and Publication Evangelism
- Responsible for writing, producing, and supplying tracts and other evangelical materials to enhance effective evangelism activities and programs.
- Morning Cry Evangelism
- Market Evangelism (Operation JIM)
- Street Evangelism
- Conducts street evangelism on agreed-upon days.
- Entertainment and Special Event Evangelism
- Organizes entertaining events such as musical concerts and special programs with the ultimate purpose of reaching out to people with the gospel of Christ.
- Media Evangelism
- Identifies and utilizes social media tools to reach the unreached and publicize departmental programs and activities, particularly within Region 32.
Modus Operandi
- Personal Evangelism
- Emphasis placed on personal evangelism through hospital visitation, Jesus in the Markets (JIM), and villages.
- Special focus on prison evangelism, hospitals, markets, and villages.
- Village evangelism to be a special three-day event, especially over the weekend (Thursday or Friday through to Sunday), as deemed appropriate.
- Mega Crusade
- Plan to conduct a minimum of two mega crusades annually at strategic venues guided by the Holy Spirit.
- Sport Evangelism
- Targeting individuals attending football fields on Sunday mornings or remaining at home, evangelists will visit homes and football fields to share the good news.
- Daily Regular Soul Winning
- Encourage every member to win a soul daily, with each member of the church being either a member of the Department of Evangelism or a volunteer.
- Initiative termed “Operation RTT” (Operation Redeeming The Time).
- General Soul Winning Exercise
- Region authority to set aside an hour on Saturday of every week for a general soul-winning exercise for all members in the region, in anticipation of the imminent return of Jesus Christ.
- Indoor Crusade/Revival
- Regular revival programs to be conducted in parishes to keep members alert for the return of Jesus Christ.
- Outdoor Crusade
- Regular staging of crusades to facilitate the growth of parishes and expansion of God’s kingdom.
- Monthly “Let Go A Fishing”
- Vigorously pursue monthly evangelistic campaigns to win more souls to Christ.
It is important to note that all activities are to be compulsorily collated, and reports generated from the parish level to the province level through established reporting lines.
Support System
In order to effectively implement this remarkable program, the necessity for adequate financing cannot be overstated. However, we are hopeful of generating funds to execute our programs.

- Partners:
- In Prayer: In addition to the Department of Evangelism prayer unit, a group of individuals will convene regularly to fervently pray for lost souls and the unreached people, particularly within the region.
- Financial and Material Support: Through divine grace, donations of cash, used clothes, and children’s toys will be collected for the purpose of evangelism. Members from various levels will voluntarily contribute these items.
- Participation: Individuals who are willing to accompany the Department to the field of evangelism physically. They will undergo preparation and training in evangelism procedures and activities.
- Donations from Individuals and Groups:
- Direct contributions made by individuals, groups, etc., specifically for evangelism purposes.
- Sponsorship of Programs and Equipment Lending:
- Acceptance of sponsorship for evangelical programs and lending of equipment to the group to facilitate the achievement of our goals.
- Jesus Market Sales (JMS):
- Selection of materials and gifts donated by members and well-wishers, which will be displayed for sale at highly affordable prices for the less privileged.
- Evangelical Meeting Offerings:
- Collections made at various evangelical meetings, designated exclusively for evangelism purposes.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Support:
- Exploration of every available opportunity with the CSR unit of the mission to advance the cause of soul-winning.
- Periodic Offerings:
- Recommended collection of periodic offerings to finance evangelism endeavors.

Expected Areas of Coverage
Considering all the information provided above and recognizing that there is still much land to be possessed, we will unite all our units and ensure that every level of the department works harmoniously for better results.
Operation and Reporting System
To achieve higher performance and growth, we will review the performance of each level of the operational units of the department through the following designed appraiser forms:
- Form A (PER Form) – Parish Evangelism Report
- Filled by the Pastor in charge of the Parish and submitted to the Pastor in charge of the Area.
- A copy of the report will be sent to the office of the Assistant Evangelism Regional Coordinator (AERC) for the final report to the office of the Regional Evangelist.
- Form B (AMR Form) – Area Monthly Report of Evangelism Program
- Summary of activities from the parishes under the Area.
- A copy of the report will be sent to the office of the Assistant Evangelism Regional Coordinator (AERC) for the final report to the office of the Regional Evangelist.
- Form C (PMR Form) – Province Monthly Report of Evangelism Program
- Summary of activities carried out during the month at the Province through the areas and parishes.
- Directly reported to the office of the Regional Evangelist of the Region.
